Vedas are like an ocean – and all the four objectives of our life – Dharma, Artha, Kaama & Moksha are all there in Vedas. Samhita part deals mainly with yagnas and Aranyaka deals with Self Realization or wisdom. Brahmana part is like an order to us referencing Samhiota mantras and tells us how to perform yagnas etc..
Vedic eduction consists of several parts, but all of those start with studying the basic Vedas – which is called as Moola Adhyayana. Sanskrit Grammar (Vyaakarana), Logic (Nyaya), Oratory Skill (Tharkka) etc.. are different parts that one learns before learning the grand commentary for Vedas called Veda Bhasyam. To learn Veda Bhashyam one must have a very good command over Sanskrit language (grammar and literature).
